Louise was born into a theatre family in Gothenburg, Sweden: the daughter of an English ballet dancer and a Swedish principal operatic tenor.  Her first performing experience came at the age of 11 in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk at Stora Teatern, Gothenburg, after which several other child roles followed.  Louise’s vocal training began at the Vadstena School of Music from where, after auditioning, she was offered first place at the top three music colleges in Sweden.  She completed her solo bachelor degree at Malmö Academy of Music and her degree of master at the Gothenburg College of Music.

In 2003 after receiving a RAM scholarship towards operatic studies, Louise took the opportunity to rediscover her UK roots and went to study on the Royal Academy Opera Course where she received her Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction.

Since graduating she has, between engagements continued to further her studies in Florence, Italy and at the George Solti Accademia di Bel Canto, receiving role and vocal coaching from Maestro Bruno Rigacci and Susanna Rigacci.

Louise’s masterclasses and tutors include: Janis Kelly, Bruno and Susanna Rigacci, Tony Legge, David Maxwell-Anderson, Cheryl Barker, Ingrid Surgenor, Jonathan Papp, Anne Howels, Laura Sarti, Thomas Hemsley, Giovanni Anaia, Ralf Döring, Kevin Smith, Helena Döse and Paolo Speca.

After graduating in the title role of Massenet’s Cendrillon to acclaim, Louise made her debut as Euridice in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice for the Spitalfields Festival, London.  Other roles include Marina in Wolf Ferrari’s I quattro Rusteghi,  Pamina, The Magic Flute, Antonia, Les Contes d’Hoffman,  Donna Elvira Sten Gästen (Malmö Opera House),  Pleasure in Handel’s The Choice of Hercules with the RAM Baroque Orchestra,  Maria in West Side Story,  Marianne the Duenna in Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier with Nicholas Braithwaite,  Gräfin Zedlau in Strauss’s Wiener Blut (Clonter Opera) and Valencienne The Merry Widow (Scottish Opera).

Louise is also a regular performer on the concert platform and her repertoire varies from Bach to Shostakovich with a range of orchestras throughout Europe. Her performances to date have taken her to countries such as the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Malta, Turkey, Sweden, Germany and Austria.  Notable performances and venues include a private recital for the Royal Family at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh; the Brahms Requiem in a collaboration between Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and Gothenburg Opera Orchestra; soprano soloist with Young Voices Concerts, performing to capacity crowds of over 60,000 in one week and over 250,000 in one month on a tour of the UK and Ireland including The O2 Millennium Dome, MEN Arena, Sheffield Hallam Arena, Birmingham NIA and the Odyssey Arena, Belfast with artists such as Beardyman, Beverley Knight and Lee Ryan.  Most recently Louise has appeared at the Royal Albert Hall and in Salzburg with tenor, Alexander Grove.

In addition to her concert work, Louise has won several competitions including the Orrtegen competition for young operatic singers and in 2005 she was the only singer to make it to the final of the Ljungrenska Swedish National Competition for Young Musicians. Unfortunately she could not attend the final due to contractual engagements.

Commercially, Louise is also a recording artist, most recently with Tempesta.  See the links above to hear some of the music...

Louise is considered to have a rich, lyrical tone with dramatic potential, an attractive and genuine stage presence and due to her background in ballet, she is a natural mover.
